Darren Aronofsky is an award-winning filmmaker born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Aronofsky heads Protozoa Pictures based in Chinatown in New York City. His credits include π, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan, Noah, Mother!, The Whale, and The Sphere Experience featuring Postcard from Earth. His latest film, Caught Stealing, starring Austin Butler, will premiere theatrically in August 2025.

As a producer, Aronofsky’s credits include Jackie, The Good Nurse, Some Kind of Heaven, Viktor, Holding Liat, and the Peabody and Creative Arts Emmy®-winning documentary The Territory. He has also executive produced several adventure docuseries for National Geographic, including “Limitless” starring Chris Hemsworth; “Welcome to Earth” starring Will Smith, for which Aronofsky also directed an episode; the “One Strange Rock” miniseries; and the upcoming “Pole to Pole” docuseries, again starring Will Smith.
